Job: Cenotaph and Maggs Park Trail Location: Logan Lake, B.C.
In summer/fall of 2012 we did two park additions for the district of Logan Lake. The first project a Cenotaph was built to honor the war veterans. The community wanted an area to host annual events for Remembrance Day. The scope of work included; 200 cubic meters of excavation, concrete forms works, cultured stone, cranning in special rocks, irrigation modifications to existing park system, plantings, relocation of storm sewer system, landscape lighting, hydro-pressed slabs and turf restoration around project. We managed this project in house subbing out the electrical and concrete form works. We have better pictures in the spring 2013 of the project completed, due to having weather issues in the fall to complete.
In the second project the community was looking to upgrade the walking paths. The district got plans made up of an asphalt path constructed between two newly constructed bridges also connecting to the community dock done by the district in Maggs park. The long term of this community is to eventually construct the path around the lake. The project scope included; 1000 cubic meters of excavation, 220 meters of asault path, gravel base installation and compaction, culvert crossings, major irrigation addition, pathway lighting, park benches, picnic tables, top soil and turf restoration.
